All Nordic countries score very strong in the index, topping the results in most elements, e.g. The Life Satisfaction, Safety, Environment and The quality of living environment. Finland is TOP1 in Education.

The Global Competitiveness Report 2016-2017
Some work to be done! Denmark, Finland, and Sweden used to be in the TOP5 also in competitiveness among 138 countries but they have lost their positions during the last years due to the harsh economical situation. They are now among the TOP12 countries.

If one harbours deep suspicion of the state, prefers traditional gender roles and dislikes children’s rights, then Sweden is indeed a place to avoid. But make no mistake: while Swedes may look extreme in their embrace of individual autonomy, the general trend is the same all over the world.
